“The Best Italian Wines 2009”

Sensations: In this wine there is much of that violet blackish fruit which upon seeing for the first time, intrigues and bewitches all the senses of the taster. The appearance reveals a denseness, an exalted maturity that calls to attention a fruitfulness that achieves the desired purpose of the fruit. Brought in from  the vineyard into the cellar  is a sincere taste which is aromatic and lasting, a testimony to traditional values. These impressions are confirmed by both the creamy balsamic perfume and by the flavour which is powerfully tannic and yet harmoniously developed in all its features. The outstanding status of this wine is due to a careful selection of grapes in the vineyards  combined with high quality vinification in the cellar.

CONCLUDING COMMENTS:

Splendid openings when tasting the wines of “Il Serraglio” which presented at the tasting three wines of superior quality.

The dense Rosso di Montepulciano 2006 with a classic tannic vigour; Nobile di Montepulciano 2004 has a fine spicy fragrance ascribable to an excellent use of wood; Nobile di Montepulciano 2005 with its mélange of fruit and balsamic menthol make it a great wine, the top of a very convincing line.
